VMware Workstation is a shareware program (also known as a trialware program, this denotes a program that can be downloaded for free but comes with limitations on its usage) that works with the Microsoft Windows and Linux Operating Systems. Using the VMware Workstation software uses can set up virtual machines - known as guest machines - which can then be used in conjunction with the original machine which is also known as the host machine. The VMware Workstation is a program that is known as a hypervisor, or Virtual Machine Monitor, which is used to create and run virtual machines.
